Team Players

Introduction

I want to talk about team players.

Get you to think about what players in your team and if they’re all pushing in the right direction.

So I’ve been working with our marketing agencies there, our HubSpot inbound marketing agents and video production team.

  • We’ve been at a client’s and we’ve done a bit of a documentary.
  • We’ve done some recruitment videos, we’ve done some new building premises sort of overview videos.
  • We’ve done some driver interviews.

Strategy

A whole bunch of videos that sort of will get montaged up and put into two minutes ninety seconds maybe, or two minutes thirty tops video as an overview explaining to go on the website.

The reason I’m talking about team players is I took a strategy that…

When I was working with the MD, I said to them “tell nobody we’re doing the videos”.

Yeah, tell them we are videoing the warehouse and we’re video-ing the offices.

But don’t tell them about the videos.

One of the questions he said is “Mike, why would I not do that?

I want to get prepared.

Don’t, two will panic, somebody, will ring in sick, all that type of stuff.

So we’ve just dropped six people who have absolutely no idea into doing what we call a three-question video strategy.

We just ask them whether it was the drivers, the office people, the exec PAs.

The operations, the warehouse people, even the young lad whose like 16 or 17 years old apprentice who you know is working the warehouse on his first job.

So we just said to him “come in, sit down and have a chat with us”.

We ask them three questions and every single one smashed it out of the park.

Had a couple of them said, “I’m really glad you didn’t tell me about that otherwise I wouldn’t have worried about it, you know I’d have worried about it last night”.

So let’s get on to team players.

LF&E Refrigerated Transport

Every single one of the team we’re in for the company.

As I said earlier, no disrespect to the young lad who works in the warehouse.

16 years old, his first job.

Everybody’s pushing the right way for the company.

From the warehouse people to the exec PA’s, they’ve all got a common purpose and a common mission and a common vision and that’s to serve the business, serve the customers and do a great job.

I’m really proud of that business today, and I’m really looking forward to seeing those sort of videos and those smiley happy people come out.

There’s no doubt about it, they’re an award winner as well.

So I’m probably going to take the brakes off it and not embarrass them, but a big shout out to Jason and his team at LF&E Refrigerated Transport.

They do medical and pharmaceutical courier work.

That’s where we’ve just done that strategy and they won a nationally prestigious award, I think it was in September or October of the last year 2017, which was the whole delivery operator of the year.

Again some big, big national players.

When you look at that team spirit, those team players, everybody knew their role, everybody gets on with it, everybody’s committed to helping out.

That’s why they’re expanding like mad, recruiting, opening new depots in the south of England.

Creating employment, award winners creating an awesome environment for the team.

Take a look at your own business.

  • Sometimes I do these videos and I have a rant.
  • Sometimes I do these videos and share some ideas with you.
  • Sometimes I just give a shout out to my clients and some of the other people that I meet will do an awesome job out there.

If you want to learn more about medical and pharmaceutical refrigerated transport, if you’re a pharmacist, you’re an NHS Trust, you’re a medical supplier, a manufacturer, a samples company, anything to do with pharma, with refrigerated trucks, check out LFETransport.co.uk

Give them a shout out, the guys are awesome.

Or you can check them out on social on LinkedIn and Facebook and things like that.

  • How can you be award winners?
  • How can you have a 500% growth?
  • How can you get a culture in your business that’s really going to make a difference?

Start with your staff, if you get the happy staff they’re going to look after your happy customers, and you’re going to get a result sort of like Jason of the team and Neil runs the operation really well there as well.

So big shout out for that.

Is there any questions you want about the team culture, team players, myself and the team will be happy to get those answered for you
