It’s a story that was recently shared by our copywriting consultant, Gary Spinks, and it’s a story that can inspire anyone in business to push beyond their perceived limits. ### **The Story of the Blind Man and the Double Amputee** Gary told me about a blind man and a double amputee who were living in China. They met by the side of a river, and the blind man turned to the double amputee and said, *“Let’s plant some trees. Let’s create shelter for the community.”* The double amputee, understandably, questioned how they could accomplish this, given his lack of arms and the blind man’s inability to see. Planting trees seemed like an impossible task, given their circumstances. But here’s where the magic happens. They didn’t let that stop them. The blind man and the double amputee decided to take action, and that burning desire to make a difference overcame their physical limitations. Together, they planted over 10,000 trees. Yes - **10,000 trees**. Think about that for a second. From an idea to a massive impact, all driven by a shared commitment and belief that they could do it, together. ### **The Power of a Burning Desire** What can we learn from this? Well, business is a lot like this story. Sometimes you feel like you’re up against insurmountable odds. You may feel that you lack the resources, the knowledge, or the skills to move forward. But if you’ve got that burning desire to succeed, that commitment to take action, you’ll be amazed at what can be accomplished when you work together. I’ve seen this time and time again throughout my 26 years in business, and it’s one of the reasons I believe in the power of collaboration. We don’t always have to do it alone.
